Well, we have been MIA for a little bit but we are back. Knowing that the family I cared for was leaving our daycare (Will started his new spec. ed. preschool) I am taking some time off.
Tessa, of course, will still be here sporadically but Charlie and I are using this time to get some appts in and some day trips, as well.
Speaking of day trips, on a recent visit to The Children’s Metamorphasis Museum we lost our camera … Errr … so no more pictures for a while
I did have my outpatient surgery on the 2nd and everything seems great now, woohoo! Charlie will have an upcoming 2 yr check up and I have a few follow – up appts as too.
Later today, we have a new friend visiting the daycare to see if maybe this would be a good fit for her. I believe she is the same age as Tessa so that would be great. Now I need to find a playmate for Charlie.
Off we go to play outside … I’m loving the warmer days!

Today is a short day so we’re all playing hard.

Erin seems to be having a teething type day,

Charlie is having a Thomas the Train type day,

And Will is “teaching” in school today.

After searching for eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny while we were napping …

We checked out what was inside them and what the Easter Bunny left in baskets for us.

Then we blew bubbles … or tried to anyways.

After all that excitement we had a great Easter snack of hard-boiiled eggs, pretzels, and apple juice in our new Easter cups!

Today while little E busied herself with a book
the boys worked together to color Easter eggs for tomorrows Easter party.

Later in the morning W showed his sister all the fun parts of the busy walker.

Today W started at his preschool. Since his Mom was staying home to bring him and pick him up for the 1st day it was just C and Mommy and of course the Monster truck!

We even got to take it outside for a spin!

Making rainbows is a very long process. At least when your 2 that is. So yesterday we learned what happend when you take just this
and mix them you can make all these colors
.
While we were busy with all that painting, E learned how good success tastes when you work to get what your reaching for,

and T learned to get herself in trouble.

Today, our paintings were dry. After cutting out the semi-circles, we got to make our rainbows.

After all that work, we got ready for a hearty lunch of spaghetti and meatballs so we could have some BIRTHDAY CAKE!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIAM your getting so big. What a great 3 year old you’ll be.

Today we learned a new game … Dominoes! We worked as a team to learn the basics of how to play. Understanding that you need to find like pictures, and match them up in a line. W enjoyed this for a long time and began understanding that you can branch out as well. Still too young to play competively, just learning the basics, working as a team, and taking turns is how we used them.
Later in the morning we all were so excited because we got to see a tow truck lift a car onto its bed while a police car, with its lights on for safety, directed the traffic. Hopefully the owner of that car will be able to get it fixed
The rest of the day we spent our time
sometimes playing together,
sometimes alone and quiet,
and other times very loudly.

Everyone was happy to see each other and was very excited about getting back to a normal routine. To continue learning about St. Patty’s Day coming up, we traced our forearms and painted them brown for a tree trunk. When they dried we glued lots of different shades of “GREEN” shamrocks on the top for the leaves. If only the trees outside could be so colorful.

E enjoyed a lot of floor time today. Placing things slightly out of reach made her work for them. She was so happy everytime she got what she was reaching for.

W and C spent alot of time playing together, and I mean together not along side each other. C pulled out his Dad’s work lunch box and then the fun began. Together they worked on making sandwiches and packing the lunch box. It was very cute. Although W apparently got to eat the fruits of their labor it seems.

Early this morning we tried to keep the mess to a minimum because W’s therapist was due to come by and that usually helps get things started if the play area is ready. The guys played with the animals and the Noah’s Ark on the table. W played with the animals, C kept working on matching the pairs up, and Little E just wanted to eat the pig.

W’s session went pretty well. K brought a mailbox that both boys enjoyed. She also brought a “little people” school bus just like ours so both boys played school bus alot. When she was getting ready to leave I brought out the BIG school bus and W and C played school bus for most of the morning.

A little garlic bread, spaghetti, green beans, and milk and all three are down for the count.
